Making Your E-commerce Pages Secure

You should make all of your e-commerce pages secure. This helps ensure the safety of your visitor's financial information. You can follow these steps to make your pages secure. 

  1. Go to the page you wish to make secure. 
  2. Click on Page Properties
  3. Click on Advanced
  4. Choose "yes" for "Make this page secure"
  5. Click on Save
To ensure that your page is now secure, you should now see "https" instead of "http" in the address bar of your browser. 

Adding E-commerce to Signup Forms

Another feature of Perpetua E-commerce allows you to add payment options to signup forms. For example, you can set up a signup form that allows a user to register and pay for an event. 

For more information on the initial set up of your signup form, click here. Once you have the basic information set up on your signup form, you can add the e-commerce fields by following the steps below. 

  1. Click the pencil icon to edit the Signup form. 
  2. Click on Add Commerce Fields at the top of the Field List. This will automatically generate Billing and Payment fields, as well as link the person signing up to the checkout page when the form is submitted.
  3. Click on the Add Additional Commerce Field button. This will allow you to designate the cost of the registration.
  4. Enter the Name of the payment field.
  5. Choose the Type of the field.
    • Quantity Box - Allows the user to enter a quantity of tickets or items to purchase and you designate the price per item under the Advanced Parameters section. 
    • Checkbox - This option allows the user to either approve the payment if there are no other options or by including multiple checkboxes, the user can put a checkmark next to the item they want. To include multiple checkboxes, you can create multiple Commerce Fields.
    • Select Box - The Select Box option creates a drop down menu for the user to choose from. Each option can be assigned a different price in the Advanced Parameters section. 
  6. Choose yes or no to make it a Required field.
  7. If applicable, enter the Advanced Parameters. 
  8. Click on Save. 

Setting Up Your Online Donations

Using Perpetua E-commerce, you can easily set up online donations on your website. 

  1. Click on Add Content. 
  2. Choose Ecommerce: Donations.
  3. Enter the Header Text. 
  4. Enter the Default Amount. NOTE: This amount is a suggested donation amount. You can leave this box blank if you do not want to suggest an amount. 
  5. Enter the Donation Categories. This will create a drop down list that your donators can choose which category to donate to. These categories should be separated by a comma with no spaces. 
  6. Choose yes or no to Allow Comments. 
  7. Choose yes or no to Show Recurring donations. NOTE: We would recommend that you leave this off and set up recurring donations separately. Recurring donations require the donator to create an account, so it is best if the donator create their account first and then set up their recurring donation after logging in. 
  8. Click on Save.
This will add the donation box to the page. Once someone submits a one-time donation, it takes them through the standard checkout process.
